• September Almost Past

  

   

  September is full of busyness and bees! Thank God for Septembers. A few pictures of the week.

  There is a time to relax outside and enjoy company.

  

  

  

  

  I've 'talked' to a few of these over the years. Honey & I both remember being taught in early school years that it's a 'preying' mantis.

  I told him to look it up. Over the years it has changed to 'praying' mantis. I guess that's the religious form of the homophone. Trust me, that's what

  google said. It is a predator even eating their mates and very small birds sometimes. I learned that it's called both prey and pray.

  I prefer prey because that's what it does. Their meals aren't blessed because they don't stop and pray even though it might look like it.

  They don't bite when you hold them, it's just their scary front legs that claw you and startle people.

  

  Another good thing to remember. Keep old dictionaries and historical printed stuff.

  Someday google & co.  will have rewritten our history  under our very noses. Just a thought.

  

  Celebrated another September birthday at a favorite place.
